Massing Open-Air Museum
Fertile hilly farmland, pastures stretching to the banks of the Laaber, the Vils, Bina, Rott ... woodland dotting the ridges. Lower Bavaria has been farm country for as long as anyone can remember, with brick and timber houses scattered throughout the countryside. The Kochhof was built between the Rott and Inn rivers; the Heilmeierhof originates from a village on the edge of the broad Isar Valley; the Lehnerhof once stood in the midst of the Hallertau hop-growing area; and the original site of the Schusteröderhof was not far from the place where all these buildings now stand: the Massing Open-Air Museum. >>
Vilstal Reservoir, Steinberg bei Reisbach
On the 100 ha Vilstalsee you can find just about any water sport imaginable from swimming to sailing and surfing. Families with children will enjoy the nearby outdoor swimming pool with water slide. The idyllic location is ideal for hikes or cycle tours. >>
